SOUTH HAMS KICK BOXING CODE OF CONDUCT

Kickboxing is a highly effective and practical method of self defence, which must only be used when absolutely necessary, and then only with sufficient force to subdue any attacker(s). You must NOT attack first unless your life is in danger and there is no other action open to you.

Students are expected to bow to each other and the Instructor during the course of the class and when entering and leaving the training area. They must also obtain the Instructor's permission to leave the training area during a lesson.

Respect must be show at all times to Instructors. Students must address Instructors in a respectful manner and never speak whilst he/she is speaking during a lesson.

When training, care must be taken to avoid accidents, and you must show consideration and respect for your training partners regardless of race, colour or creed.

In the training area you must never engage in rowdy behaviour and bad language must never be used. Smoking is forbidden. Eating or drinking is only allowed with the Instructors permission. Always wear the correct uniform. Ensure that our uniform and person, particularly feet, are clean and nails clipped short (or adequately covered by safety equipment when sparring). Jewellery is not allowed in class for safety reasons.

Students will not be allowed to take part in any form of contact sparring without having a valid licence and membership, a full  approved set of sparring equipment and their Instructor's permission. Also students must wear hand wraps and bag gloves before they can strike a pad. Any accident or injury must be the responsibility of the individual(s) concerned and not the Association.

To be eligible to attend a grading, students must have a valid licence and relevant required equipment. Failure to ensure this will mean that they cannot grade. Grading will depend upon attendance and the Instructor's discretion, as well as technical ability.

All students must conduct themselves in a sportsman-like manner. Bullying either physically or verbally will not be tolerated. Derogatory or offensive remarks must not be made against any person or against any other martial art, and proper respect should be shown to them at all times.
