Yellow belt syllabus
FITNESS
- Wide press ups for 30 seconds
- Sit ups for 30 seconds
- Skipping for 30 seconds
- Inward/outward crescent kicks x 5 (without putting foot down)
STANCES
- Side facing stance (both sides)
BLOCKS (using both sides)
- Elbow cover
- Bob and weave
- Outside shin block
HAND ATTACKS (both sides)
KICKS (both sides)
- Front knee
- Stepping side kick
- Stepping roundhouse kick (high section)
COMBINATIONS
- As set by Instructor/Examiner (up to double techniques)
PAD WORK (To be assessed on ability to hold pads as well as
strike)
- As set by Instructor/ Examiner (up to double techniques)
- 90 seconds continuous punching, to include bob and weave
BALANCE
- Front snap kick (front leg) x 10 each leg without dropping
leg
SPARRING
- Controlled hands only sparring (boxing gloves and head guard
required)
